November Design Crush - caned furniture
I love the look and texture of caned furniture - looking back, I wish I had grabbed a couple more of my grandmother's caned chairs. She was a creative type and tried her hand in this ancient technique. Caning dates back to the Egyptians and was later used in England, Holland and France. Caned furniture is light, durable and easy to clean. Take a peek at a few modern day examples. I especially like it mixed with black paint and dark limed wood.

Shelter Loves
Happy Friday! I am staying in tonight and relaxing with my children. I can't tell you how happy that makes me! It's been a busy couple of weeks and I always appreciate some chill/snuggle time with them. I've been digging deep for some new inspiration lately. My aim is for each project I take on to have its own identity, while reflecting my client's tastes and lifestyles. Here is what I'm crushing on.... xx
1. Julia Stegner: her effortless look, has a very vintage feel. And that hair!!! I need to add more body back to my look.
2. These earrings are a deal and would look gorgeous with an emerald velvet blazer this holiday season.
3. Pretty, compact totes in CAMEL. This rich color mixes with everything.
4. What a kick ass bar this is! I adore the brass shelving. I may need to incorporate this look into my latest project. It's a GOODIE, with some interesting and lovely clients.
5. THIS quote is going out to each and every woman I know and all of YOU who read my blog. It is EVERYTHING!!! YOU run your own show.. Amen.
6. White tshirts with relaxed gauzy pants. This look embodies sexy and comfort.
7. I often design furniture for my clients. I have been inspired by Thomas Hayes Studio lately. His bar stools are cool too.

Love the look - A long weekend in Nashville
Hi y'all! I hope you had a extra spooky Halloween. I don't know about you, but I've been feasting on my children's trick or treating rejects all day! I'm excited to get away next weekend with my boyfriend and a few friends. We are heading down south to Nashville. My goal is to bring only a carry on bag, I will need to pack strategically. Here is a sampling of what I'm going to bring. I'm also packing a couple of white tees, some cool sneakers, pjs and of course my beauty products! I love how "anything goes' in Nashville, so I think the teddy coat is a good day to evening choice! I also love these boots.

One concept, two takes - the neutral living room
I love the idea of a gorgeous neutral space, they feel fresh and sophisticated. Mostly monochromatic rooms aren't as practical with pets and children but when done with the right amount of texture, contrast and pattern, they whisper = perfection.
