New Year's Eve style

What are you doing New Years, New Year's Eve? (Sorry, I couldn't help it) I don't have any major plans this year and I am OK with that. The day after

I don't know about you but I'm feeling pretty fried today. My house is a post Christmas disaster. I do however have a bit of energy left to visit all the amazing sales online today! Mind you, I am posting this from the comfort of my cozy bed. My daughter and I are hanging and maybe I will get the energy to clean around 12. My first question is, where did December go? I haven't had much time to relax and enjoy the Christmas season..I am looking forward to some down time with my friends and family this weekend.
I've pretty much had wrapping up projects and children's gifts on my brain this week but here is what I did happen to catch!

Nate Berkus style

I'll be running off in a few to style for a photoshoot, on a beautiful project that I have been working on. I CANNOT wait to share it with you all - but not until I post the gorgeous new home of Nate Berkus, Nate's husband Jeremiah Brent and their adorable daughter, Poppy! It's a glorious 1928 Spanish Colonial style located in L.A. It is, of course, perfectly appointed with a mix of vintage and new furniture. Read and see more of Nate's home here. Good Morning and happy Monday lovies! Wow, this month is flying by and we are officially  counting down the twelve days of Christmas. I hope to have some time to truly enjoy the holiday season with my family and friends. I would love less rat race and more down time on the weekends. I hope to finish off my shopping online this week. There are SO many great sales on this "green Monday"! I have trouble buying much at full price anymore! Wishing you all a perfect week!! Here are my current loves and lusts! I was in a meeting all day on Friday and ran out of time to blog. I have a number of exciting projects going on and a wonderful photoshoot of one of my favorites to date coming up! xx

1. I tend to feel more comfortable wearing my mass of thick hair up! I need to take the time (yeah right) to try more fun styles like this! I also like my hair less on the quaffed side and more natural looking.
2. I SWEAR by these L.L. Bean lodge boots. They are 25% off today and worth every penny. My first pair was (I hope) accidentally taken from the gym. I just ordered another pair and I wear them all over town: to run errands and pick up my kids at school etc. etc.
3. Ok, I know quotes can be a bit cliche but they honestly lift me up!! I have become a more positive person as I have grown older. I find acting negatively over, what end up being, small things in life a complete energy suck. Bitch for a moment to a friend and be done with it! Most of life is good. Health, financial security and love (including self love) are everything and if you have those don't waste time fretting about the rest of it. We all have shitty (nights) days, trust me. xo
4. Gen Sohr's posts and designs are always perfectly imperfect. Her use of color and pattern are delightful and never too serious. Here is a snap of her foyer via Southern Living. 💓💓💓
5. J.Crew is hosting 40% off and free shipping today. These bags are so functional and cute! I think it's time for me to switch over my larger bag this winter. 
6. When I have time I like to bake and create. Emerson loves to help me. How adorable is this gingerbread house cake?
7. I have a thing for fluffy coats. I own three and wear them all the time. I would not mind adding this one to my collection - it is 50% off.  (most of mine are faux and block the winter wind beautifully).. If you prefer a faux version, this one is pretty too.

I'm not going to fib, I've been running around like a mad woman. Is it me or does it feel like it should be Thursday!? I just realized I don't even think my show (one of my only escapes) is on tonight! I've got the holidays on my mind and I am feeling festive. Crazed and festive - lol. I'm going to be posting some holiday style over the next two weeks. This week, I am kicking it off with a casual holiday look! Here's hoping you can sneak a moment to yourself tonight too! Holiday in the Kitchen

When you have a kitchen as gorgeous as this why not go all out with holiday decorations!! I spent some of today laying out a kitchen design. I can't help but envision what a space will look like and how it will function as a I draw, design and create. December's House Beautiful kitchen of the month is full of stunning details and plenty of amazing inspiration. Designer, Alison Pickart did not miss a beat while designing this double-height beauty in her own home. She created a number of stations around the room. Just take a peek at how lovely it all turned out. I'd love to see the rest of the 1932 built California cottage she shares with her family. Just look at this marble checked floor! Gah! I have marble counter tops myself and agree with Alison - They only get better with age and wear. I can also roll a mean holiday cookie dough on them!

When looking back at old photos, I think I still look the best when my outfit is classic with a modern twist. Timeless style goes a long way and does not date quickly. I often pair classic pieces with modern elements in my design projects. This way the look has lasting appeal and with just the right amount of freshness. I've been selecting lots of furniture lately for projects. This week, I am on a classic with a twist kick. (hence my picks below). Happy December - may yours be one filled with joy, hope and love for you! I am in Vermont this weekend, we are heading to the tree farm to cut down a tree. Gift Guide 2017 - For the yogi + health conscious

I think it is safe to say that we all have a little spiritual gangster in us. Even if you aren't a die hard yogi, there's no reason you can't dress like one and embrace a bit of peace in your life! I could always use a bit more calm, so I try to get to a yoga class here and there when I can. I am also eating cleaner and prefer to use chemical free products! Holiday Cheer

I typically don't decorate my house for the holiday until December. I am very busy (which is a good thing) with work but am determined to get all my shopping, wrapping and decorating finished early this year. (I already ordered and received my cards)!
