Celebrity Style - In the Kitchen

I have a number of interior design projects in the works, including various stages of kitchen designs. My goal is always to create spaces that feel fresh but also timeless, especially when it comes to kitchens. They are an investment and I never want them to tire quickly.

Today I'm sharing a peek into the world of celeb kitchens. Some of these actresses have since moved but their homes were stunning, non the less. Cheers!

Shelter Loves

Hello, hello and happy Monday. I snuck out of town late last week to go skiing with my kids, it was fun and is getting so much easier now that they both know how to ski down from the top of the mountain. Here is last Friday's edition of "Shelter loves". Enjoy and I hope your week is off to a great start.

1. I'm feeling limed wood cabinetry lately. See more of this home here via House Beautiful
2. These oversized floral earrings are the perfect spring addition for your wardrobe. They would look stunning with a colorful top or dress.
3. Williams-Sonoma's Cuban inspired dish-ware and glasses are fun, fun, fun.
4.  My friend Julia does not know it yet but I am going shopping with her this Spring for cutting garden flowers. These garden roses are so vibrantly layered and full.
5. I could spend a small fortune on ski gear. Next up on my wish list are these Lindsey Vonn Flight Deck Oakley goggles. I will miss watching the Olympics.
6. Mocs slip off with ease when traveling by plane. The Felize from M. Gemi are available in a number of gorgeous colors.

Out Door Inspiration - out of the box

We got a little taste of Spring here in Boston yesterday. It's funny how the warm weather shifts my thinking of indoors to out in an instant. Here are some porches, patios, pools and prettiness that are speaking to me! I love the unpredictability of each.

Shelter Loves...

Today I am sharing my loves from last week. It feels like Sunday anyway, my kiddos are on vacation all week so I am trying to balance work and play. I will be squeezing in a ski trip at the end of the week. Winter gets most of us down. I have Spring on my mind and all the beauty and rebirth that comes along with it, especially the array of floral buds and gardens.

There is a lot of sadness around the world and in America right now. My heart goes out to all of those in Florida affected by the senseless violence and hate behind the Parkland school shooting. I was moved and very impressed by the young students who had the courage to use their voices to rally behind and for what they believe in: stricter gun control and legislation. I am a mother of young children and I firmly believe something needs to change in our country. What is in place, is NOT working.

1. Dawn Wolfe's beautiful three dimensional collages are 20% off on One King's Lane today.
2. I have my eye on a number of light fixtures from Ann Morris Lighting
3. This grey kitchen feels fresh and clean in Scooter Braun's Cali vacation home. I like the simplicity and also the hardware. The hardware is from Waterworks, be warned, the price point is not for the faint of heart. Image via: Arch Digest
4. How pretty is this floral printed maxi? I find it hard to find fab sundresses that don't break the bank.
5. Grab these Gucci glasses while they are on sale! I tend to gravitate towards stylish but classic sunnies.
6. I need to refresh my living room -pillows are in order! This new Schumacher print is on my possible pillow choice print list!!
7. The slide trend is here to stay, you can't go wrong with this Kate Spade version

Love the look - taking flight

I am counting the days down (well my eight year old daughter is) until our Disney trip. I'm excited and a little nervous about having a regimented schedule. I prefer a relaxing vacation and nothing overly scheduled! Are you heading anywhere to escape the cold this winter?? Do you have favorite travel items? Here are mine:

I choose comfort when flying. Long gone are my days of trying to impress anyone with my travel outfit. Ha!

1. Tissue tee shirt. I like light tee shirts, opposed to heavy cotton.
2.  How cute are these headphones? I will be chilling out with some music for a bit on the plane.
3. Bring a little piece of home with you with this coordinate bracelet. I think I may use the coordinates from my favorite beach or my parent's back yard - (it has a lovely view and will always feel like home to me)
4. I love totes and need one I can throw over my shoulder. I like the striped should strap on the Clare V. version. This canvas one is great too and supports a wonderful cause -EMC
5.  I'll leave Boston in a light jacket.
6. I always travel with a cozy scarf. I wear them around my neck or as a blanket if the plane is cold.
I find planes are either too color or too hot and rarely "just right" temp wise.
7. I'll be wearing these all week. New Balance sneakers are cute and comfy. This new 696 version is adorable.
8.  Lip balm and hand cream are a must on the plane.
9.  Comfy pants that aren't overly casual looking.
10. I also drink a ton of water in flight and always bring almonds to snack on.
11. I will toss a good book and magazines in my carry on!
12. My phone/music source is obviously on the list too.

Flower Power - Ashley Whittaker

With Spring around the corner, I've got punchy hues and floral prints on my mind! I adore the cheer that color brings to just about anything! I often use punches of color or even subtle sophisticated hues in my work to add dimension, interest and always a hint of drama. Ashely Whittaker is a master, she fearlessly mixes textures, pattern and color perfectly in this Connecticut weekend home! The beautiful floral prints and wallpaper make this bathroom sing!! Charming + Chic in NYC

As you may recall, last Friday I shared my conundrum with finishing off Emmi's bed room. When I finally think I've nailed it, she decides she wants something else. You can say put your foot down, but I want her to love her room too! I think we have settled on Farrow and Ball's borrowed light for the wall color. I am also waiting on the wallpaper sample from Serena and Lily. I thought I'd share the rest of designer Cece Barfield's chic home with you. I love the historic charm and feminine details of her Manhattan apartment. Cece trained with Bunny Williams before starting her own design firm in 2015. heart day

Whether you choose (or chose) to be single or not (we have ALL been there) on Valentine's Day, a little heart day inspo never hurt anyone. During the years that I was single, I still chose to embrace celebrating the love in my life and often found an excuse to pick up a pretty little something for myself. Today I'm sharing some pretty Valentine's Day ideas:

1. These look adorable on! They also come in pink.
2. I am often looking to brighten up my wardrobe by February! A new handbag is a great way to add some color to your life!
3. I need a new car and am actually toying with the idea of going with something slightly smaller. I need something roomy and safe for my kids but I always appreciated a nice, European looking cars. I will most likely stick with an SUV for work purposes but I want something sportier!! How cute is this little car? The Countryman Mini is on my radar but I think it is too small. I also need a car that can plow through the snow!
4. Flowers are the perfect way to brighten anyone's day. Ranunculus are one of my favorites!!
5. These are on my wish list. (hint, hint)
6.  The gift of music is a great one!! Bose still makes a fabulous sounding speaker.
7. + 10. The girls over at Twine and Twig are killing it. Don't miss out on their 25% off sale! I am loving their Spring collection and the Valentine's blush stack. I think I need a new piece for Florida.
8. I love the look of wrap sweaters. This one is reversible and super comfy. Size down, it runs a large - I would say if you are a size 4 to get an xxs. **It is 30% off**
9. Beautycounter is my go to for moisturizing, chemical free lipstick and gloss. This color collection is versatile and would make the perfect gift.

Shelter Loves...

Hola!! Happy weekend, lovies! I bet you're happy to see it too!! Lots of good stuff happening over here and every week is a balancing act but I wouldn't trade it for the world! Here's a peek at this week's "hot list" and lusts! Enjoy your weekend! xoxo

1.  What a sweet tee - Get this one before it sells out. I layer tees under everything!!
2. The casual fashion trend is all right by this Mama. Five inch heels? I'm all set. I'll be wearing this look most of the weekend. There are so many Golden Goose sneaks, how do you choose?? Would you splurge on this cult fave?
3. Honestly, LET THAT SHIT GO. We all run into bizarro behavior and assholes from time to time..Try to move on, it's not worth anything else.
4. I want to change up my daughter's room. I have been agonizing over it for a year now. I finally came to a decision on a wallpaper and my daughter negged it, said it looked "too grey". I am going to show her this image. (I actually love this feminine with a touch of granny chic look - This entire apartment is divine, I'll be sharing that next week). I am 90% sure I am going with pale blue walls, an even paler blue bed, a light blue and white wallpaper, lavender and a hint of pink as a scheme. I hope she gives it a thumbs up!! The winning shade here is Farrow and Ball's - Borrowed Light. It's a stunner.
5. I'm not a huge football fanatic like most I know around here but I will be pigging out and watching the Pats on Sunday! I'm making these - I love myself some yummy home made wings!! Go Patriots!!
6. I need to find a reason to use this tile. I like the simplicity of it. It won't feel tired in a couple years!
7. Okay, I need to some how wear my hair like this...

Love the look - Escape

This is the time of year most people in the states are thinking about escaping the cold! As I've mentioned, we're taking the kids to Disney in March. I'll be sure to share my looks for that trip soon! In the meantime, here's a peek at some of my favorite resort staples this year. Throw a pair of cut off denim shorts, white jeans, a beach cover and hat into the mix with these items and you're all set! Of course don't forget the sunblock, toiletries and your favorite baubles.
